Ellen Becker has more than twenty-five years of experience in creating unique garden compositions and planting expressive pots, planters, and annual floral displays. What began as a summer job after high school bloomed into a passion for nature and the outdoors. She spent her senior year of college overseas in Sevilla, Spain, and that planted the “travel seed.”
After her time in Spain, she studied Mandarin while living in Beijing and Shanghai, China. China led her to pursue more travels, this time to Germany, where she lived for nine years and started her beautiful family. Dual citizenship to Ireland made living and working in Europe easier without having to deal with work visas.
Create Living Artwork
As a Denver native, gardening always called her back to her roots. The name “Floral Culture” was inspired by Ellen’s passion for creating living artwork interwoven with a multi-cultural, multi-lingual lifestyle.
Wreath creations were a side effect of garden cuttings and a way to perpetuate the beauty to a repurposed function of bringing the nature of the garden indoors.
After all, flowers are the music of the ground, from earth’s lips, spoken without sound.
In her free time, Ellen can be found hiking in Boulder with her kids, enjoying a night out at a local comedy club, or curled up with a good book and a glass of wine.
